TAKE HOME TEST QUESTIONS due Dec 19 at 4:15 pm!! Earlier is certainly great for me.

=======================================================================

Some of you are into art, and might enjoy the curating class I teach in the spring. This is hands-on--we put shows together in real public spaces of real art by area artists. It’s fun, no tests, some short writing components like show statements, and mostly discovering and understanding the contemporary art scene.

Open to all students. No prerequisite. Contact me for permission number.

THE READINGS--due Dec 5

Find the appropriate readings for each week on Blackboard. Look under “Electronic Reserves” in the left sidebar.

Each week you should read the short articles about who we covered in class. For example, the first week week we covered Niepce, Daguerre, and Talbot. They are in order.

READING RESPONSES (summary)

For each reading, you’ll write two sentences on regular paper: 1) the main point of the article, and 2) your impression of the photography by that person as seen in class.

Hand write them on paper.

Hand in at midterm and then again at end of semester.

This is a great article about women photojournalists in Vietnam (and we’ll be talking about Vietnam soon). Totally optional, but in case you are curious.
